Lessons from an Autistic Life

  • Coral Street Art Space (map)

Beau is an autistic adult and holds a Master of Architectural Science, majoring in Audio and Acoustics. He also has many years of martial arts training.

From childhood, Beau underwent twenty years of clinical talk-therapies and pharmaceuticals before he accepted none of it was helping. His experience of life was utter turmoil, and he was completely at odds with his own reality.

Finally, a worthy professional correctly diagnosed him and introduced him to embodied modalities. Then, he met his second great teacher, a master of Eastern disciplines. Since, Beau has built a system of self-cultivation to live by, and he is resilient and clear.

Beau believes autistic people deserve better than to be boxed-up and medicated, or forced to comply with mainstream expectations that don't provide the real conditions required to be the fully realised versions of who they truly are. He knows for a fact that the right structure can do this as it does for him. He would never live without it now.

At this talk, Beau will share the story behind that structure — and how the same principles could support you or someone you love.
