Opening event – Water People 2025 – Water on Country

Join us as for the opening of Water People 2025 - Water on Country curated by Amanda Westley.

With a deep focus on Water on Country, Amanda will curate a collection of works from First Nations artists across Australia. This exhibition offers a unique opportunity to engage with the ancient and profound stories of water—its significance to communities from the vast deserts to the heart of Ngarrindjeri Country.

A special opening event will take place, featuring Smoking Ceremony and Song.

The Details

  • Doors open at 5:30pm

  • All guests will be invited outside for Smoking Ceremony at 6:00 for a 6:15 Start (Please bring jackets as it will be cool)

  • After smoking ceremony we will move indoors for official Welcome to Country and Yarluwar Song

  • Featured works from across Australia including as far as Munipi - Tiwi Islands and Pormparoaw - Queensland will be for sale

  • Complimentary light nibbles and wine will be offered + sparkling water
