Join us for a hands-on basket weaving workshop and discover the creative art of twining using natural fibres and recycled fabrics.
Guided by Gem an experienced local artisan, participants will learn a traditional weaving technique and create their own unique basket to take home. Using a combination of natural materials and strips of recycled fabric, this workshop offers an opportunity to explore sustainable craft practices while giving new life to materials that might otherwise become waste.
No previous weaving experience is required, making this workshop suitable for beginners and anyone interested in learning a new skill in a relaxed and supportive environment.
All materials will be provided, and participants will have the opportunity to work at their own pace throughout the session.
What you'll learn:
The basics of twining basket weaving
How to work with natural fibres and recycled textiles
Techniques for creating a strong and functional basket
Creative ways to reuse materials and reduce waste
Please note: Participants are encouraged to bring their own lunch. Tea and coffee will be provided.
Places are limited to 10 participants, so bookings are essential.
