Special Screening: Tim Bonython's Cinematic Ocean Journeys

As part of the Water People exhibition, Victa Cinema presents a special screening drawn from the cinematic ocean journeys of award-winning surf filmmaker Tim Bonython.

With a camera in hand since 1978, Tim Bonython has spent decades chasing the world's biggest swell events to the mo st remote and dangerous coastlines on earth. His breathtaking imagery and intimate storytelling capture the raw beauty, force and spirituality of the ocean in a way that few filmmakers have ever achieved — making this a compelling and immersive companion to the themes explored in Water People.

Tim Bonython is behind some of the world's most iconic surf films, including Biggest Wednesday, Blackwater, May Dayz, Immersion, and The Big Wave Project — this special screening reflects Bonython's lifelong commitment to documenting big-wave surfing at its most awe-inspiring.

An immersive cinematic experience that speaks to the deep connection between people, water, and the power of the natural world.

Tim will be there to present each section which will be a unique collection of some of Tim's finest edits.
